Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac – The name was chosen as a tribute to King Louis XIII of France, the reigning monarch when the Rémy Martin family settled in the Cognac region a company. This cognac was produced by Remy Martin and owned by the Rémy Cointreau Group. A blend of more than 1200 eaux-de-vie coming exclusively from the Grande Champagne Premier Cru de Cognac and aged from 40 to 100 years. All contained in a Baccarat crystal decanter, a replica of a gourd found during the battle of Jarnac. It is an intimate cognac to be savored for as long as possible to capture its infinite wealth of fragrances and flavors.

Tasting Notes: A very floral with honeysuckle, and sweet, with delicately perfumed fruit – melon and peaches on the nose with cinnamon, almonds, peach, orange and orange blossom, and woody spice. The succinct note in my notebook simply says ‘like eating twigs and sweet flowers on the palate and Delicate grape, sweet oak spice, melon and lingering floral notes finish.
