Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an appellation of the Veneto wine region located west of Verona, in Italy. An Amarone della Valpolicella wine is named Classico when it is produced in a specific historic area, including the municipalities of Fumane, Marano di Valpolicella, Negrar, San Pietro in Cariano and Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella. These Italian red wines are produced from a blend of grapes which include Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Amarone Classico wines can generally be aged in the bottle for around 20 years.

Tasting Notes: Amarone Classico wines have a deep red colour that tends towards garnet as they age. The nose develops characteristic aromas of nuts, tobacco and spices. On the palate, the wines of Amarone Classico are rich, velvety and warm. They reveal rich fruity flavours and are very smooth.
